The Campbell Group changes name to Campbell Global; hires Steven King as Director of Global Business Strategy
Portland, Ore. - March 18, 2014 - Founded in 1981, The Campbell Group, a full-service timberland investment firm, has changed its name to Campbell Global. The name change affirms the company's core values while reflecting its global expertise.
"For more than three decades, The Campbell Group has been a leader in timberland investment management," said John Gilleland, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman. "We are expanding our global reach and offering additional expertise and analysis, while maintaining the strongest commitment to our existing clients, partners, and assets."
Campbell Global manages more than 3.1 million acres across the west and south of the United States and in South Australia, representing approximately $6.3 billion in assets. The firm has over 300 employees.

Adding to a well-established and experienced team, Campbell Global has hired Steven King as Director of Global Business Strategy. Mr. King's primary responsibilities are to develop and support the firm's international initiatives. He brings more than a decade of experience working with large, complex timberland investments in the Americas, Africa, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

As Director of Global Business Strategy, Mr. King develops and supports the firm's international initiatives. With more than a decade of international experience-including three years based in London and two in Australia-Mr. King has broad experience with large, complex timberland investments in the Americas, Africa, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Prior to joining Campbell Global, Mr. King played a key role in the successful launch of a competitor's first non-U.S. timberland fund, including acquisitions and portfolio management. Prior to that he held positions with Rayonier and two internationally recognized consulting firms, Jaakko Pöyry Consulting and James W. Sewall Company.
At James W. Sewall Company, Mr. King served as lead appraiser for international projects, including those in Australia, Brazil, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. He also appraised investmentgrade timberland properties across the U.S. South.
As a consultant for Jaakko Pöyry Consulting, Mr. King appraised large timberland properties across Australia and New Zealand, and performed wood supply and market analyses in Tasmania, Western Australia, and South Korea. He also conducted feasibilities studies for various processing facilities in Europe and Mozambique.
